All products of the BlackStone brand are certified according to current European Union standards.
The products that fall within these standards are marked with the CE mark, after having been subjected to checks to guarantee compliance.
CE
The CE mark is mandatory for all equipment with a drive system other than direct human or animal force, with at least one mobile part, capable of carrying out work.
Other products can also fall under marking, such as masks.
The marking therefore guarantees that if checks are carried out for that product, they have been carried out successfully.
Behind the CE mark there are many standards: for each of these, if proof is required, the product must comply.
Let’s take an example of the most common ones used by the BlackStone mark:
- Directive 2006/42 EC. Called the Machinery Directive, it is the queen of mechanical standards. In fact, everything that is a machine must comply with this very important Directive;
- Directive 2014/35 EU: Low Voltage Directive. It covers all electrical equipment between 50 and 1000 V for alternating current and 75 and 1500 V for direct current;
- Directive 2014/30 EC: Electromagnetic Directive. It is used to verify that they comply with an adequate level of electromagnetic compatibility.
- Directive 2000/14 EC: establishes noise limits for machinery and control criteria for them;
- Regulation 2014/35 EC concerning materials and objects intended to come into contact with food products, so that the materials used are safe for food preparation;
- Regulation 2016/426 on appliances that burn gaseous fuels, such as barbecues and gas ovens.
These are some standards, but BlackStone applies many others for your safety.
There are also EN standards, which establish very stringent verification criteria for machines, such as EN 609-1:2017 which describes in detail how a log splitter should be made.
One very important aspect should not be left out, that of waste disposal.
RAEE
This brand, called WEEE, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, serves to indicate that the appliance, at the end of its life, must not be placed among undifferentiated domestic waste, but taken to the appropriate centers for its collection. These products have mental contents that make them dangerous for the environment if abandoned and economically advantageous if recycled. Therefore, following the rules and indications of your Municipality, you can deliver them to the appropriate collection centers, free of charge. This also applies to batteries, lithium, lead, alkaline etc.
If you have any doubts about how to proceed, feel free to contact BlackStone for the information you need.
